Red Ribbon Week
takes place each year from October 23 through 31st.

We co-host a Red Ribbon Week contest with Partners for a Drug Free Cass County.
-
Posters by our elementary schools
-
Essays by our junior and middle schools
-
Billboards/Banners/Murals by our high schools
In the 2024 contest, we worked with Mike Anderson in downtown Logansport to challenge our school districts to help fill the space with another mural design. The Cass County Community Foundation sponsored the Mural in 2024 & 2025! We could not have done it without them!
You can view the 2024 & 2025 Mural:

behind Pear Tree Gallery, close to the Little Turtle Archway
In 2025, we kicked off the week by decorating the downtown area with Red Ribbons and sidewalk chalk designs.
Thanks to our schools for getting their students engaged and interested in Red Ribbon Week. Every school celebrates Red Ribbon Week, in some way. They decorate their buildings and classrooms, they have contests of their own, and they sponsor dress-up days. Stand Up Cass County is pleased to provide resources and goodies to support our schools.
We co-host a contest with posters, essays, and mural creations. Contest winners and their families are invited to a Red Ribbon Breakfast where they are honored on stage. They receive a certificate, a gift card, and get celebrated with family and friends. We also recognize our community partners for becoming invested in Red Ribbon week the past few years!

This is the Red Ribbon Mural design winner,
Kailee Lake, from the Century Career Center.
Her teacher, Jen Walker, allowed the class to participate back in October! They won a banner to hang in their school and there will be a downtown mural going up!
Red Ribbon Week 2026 planning has already begun.
Our goal is to have more community buy-in and that Red Ribbon Week gets bigger each year! With the permanent installation of our murals, we hope that it will help share the message community-wide.
If you are interested in supporting this effort, please contact Nikki at nikki@ysainc.org.
We are looking for community partners to help us celebrate all week! We encourage all organizations and businesses to participate in their own way as well. Please follow our website and social media pages to learn where we will install the next mural and to stay up to date on information.
